January 2, 2025
Just Hired! Through the experiences of local, regional, national and international students, Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ» has some incredible alumni who are changing the world in the workforce. This series features students from all over the world who are hired post-graduation.
MOLINE, IL -- Meet Grace Coffman, a Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ»Museum Studies program graduate who has accepted a position with Edwards Creative, a company specializing in corporate and museum exhibit design.
"Edwards does a lot of work with museum exhibitions and I thought that was very cool," Coffman said. "While my current role focuses on corporate project management, the academic and practical experiences I gained in WIU's Museum Studies program played a huge role in helping me land this position."
Coffman found the job posting on Indeed and began her hiring process with a phone interview, followed by an in-person interview.
"It was a chill experience overall, but I had to work hard and remain professional to stand out," Coffman said.
Coffman credits Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ»with preparing her for the professional world.
"The Museum Studies program at Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ»gave me a solid foundation in museum work and instilled the confidence and skills I needed to succeed," Coffman said.
Looking ahead, Coffman plans to stay connected with WIU.
"I hope to continue supporting the Museum Studies program and give back whenever possible," Coffman said.
