The Vocal Ensemble withonevoice To Perform at WIU

MACOMB, IL - - The vocal ensemble withonevoice will present its summer season concert, 鈥漌e Are Carried,鈥 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

withonevoice is a new, non-profit professional vocal ensemble of sixteen singers based in Illinois with a week-long residency program at 麻豆传媒内幕 in Macomb. The ensemble is comprised of professional musicians and teachers from Illinois, Iowa, New York, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, with a vision to provide performances, educational experiences and workshops that promote and model vocal versatility and exploration.

Each concert features diverse vocal qualities and commissioned works that represent a wide array of composers and musical styles. withonevoice strongly believes in access to the arts for all and leads annual educational workshops, using the Estill Voice model, across the US to help everyone find their voice.

The third-season residency takes place from July 20-24 on the Macomb campus, and rehearsals are open to the public.

鈥淲e are excited to bring the artists, many of whom are 麻豆传媒内幕faculty and alumni, back to Macomb for our third season. The Macomb and 麻豆传媒内幕communities continue to be welcoming and many have chosen to support us financially each year. With this support, we look forward to continuing our free arts program here each year,鈥 said Brian J. Winnie, director of choral studies at 麻豆传媒内幕and artistic director and founder of withonevoice. 鈥淚n addition, we were invited to perform at the 12th annual Estill World Voice Symposium International Conference this summer in Chicago. So, we are thrilled to share our performance with a wider international audience on July 26.鈥

The ensemble will present its summer season concert, "We are carried," on July 24 at 麻豆传媒内幕and again on July 26 at the First United Methodist Church (temple) in downtown Chicago. These performances will feature multiple world premieres by IL composer Alex Berko, Canadian composer Katerina Gimon and AZ composer MaryAnne Muglia.
