IHSA Basketball Super-Sectional to be Held at Western Hall

MACOMB, IL - - The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) will be hosting a Class 1A Boy鈥檚 Basketball Super-Sectional at Western Hall on March 9.

The return to Western Hall will feature the winners of the Monmouth (United) Sectional and the Orion sectional will advance to the game held on WIU鈥檚 campus.

"Having the super-sectional return to Western Hall has been a goal since I became the Director of Athletics,鈥� 麻豆传媒内幕Athletic Director Paul Bubb said. 鈥淲e started the process back in the summer of 2023 and am glad that we will be hosting, again, the 1A Super-Sectional here at Western Hall.

The University and Western Hall have a long relationship with high school basketball, hosting one of the longest running boys basketball holiday tournaments in the state of Illinois. This year鈥檚 tournament featured West Hancock defeating Illini West for the 79th Macomb Western Holiday Tournament championship.

鈥淔or me, personally, I have great memories of attending the Super-Sectionals here at Western Hall back in the 70's and 80's,鈥� Bubb said. 鈥淲estern serves this region and this is another opportunity for us to do so and to welcome people from the region to our campus."
